At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by, "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me, I was homeless and you took me in." Hungry not only for bread - but hungry for love. Naked not only of clothing - but naked of dignity and respect. Homeless not only for want of a home of bricks - but homeless because of rejection.
-- Mother Teresa
The definition of crusade is any vigorous, aggressive movement for the defense or advancement of an idea or cause.
Together, let us advance not just the idea of compassion, but the thing itself, by committing to be examples of compassion in the world. We will be aggressive only in the sense that we will be vigorously energetic in the use of initiative to further the cause of spreading compassion in the world.
Together, let us be committed to working on reacting to hate, destruction, pain, suffering, etc., with loving-kindness, forgiveness and understanding.
I believe wholeheartedly in the power of all that is loving. Together, let us love everything broken into wholeness again...
